Xuyaotang · Qijing and Its Lineage
Xuyaotang's professional work centres on Qijing — not a new idea, but a family practice passed down through six generations and set down as a teachable system over recent decades. The practice works from meridians and acupoints with an emphasis on steady, everyday care. In daily use it is hands-on technique first, supported by acupoint patches and herbal pastes.

The head is not treated at the head
Discomfort in the head often traces to the neck and blocked meridians — open the neck first.
The foot is not treated at the foot
Aching and numbness in the legs usually relates to the lower back and sacrum.
The back is not treated at the back
Recurring back discomfort often follows imbalance in the sinews and organs, so the whole is addressed.
For the stomach, work with the gallbladder
The gallbladder pattern: abdominal discomfort, a bitter taste, tenderness under the right ribs.

Qijing Founder: Zhang Biqing
- Director, Beijing Qijing Institute of Chinese Medicine
- Council member, China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion
- Chief editor, Qijing
- Chief Technical Adviser, Xuyaotang
- Technical Adviser to Rende
Born in 1954 in Jingxian, Anhui, into a family of Chinese-medicine practitioners, Zhang Biqing studied from childhood under his grandfather Zhang Ji'an as the sixth generation of the family. He has spent his career researching, documenting and teaching traditional meridian and acupoint wellness techniques.
Building on the family practice, he drew together meridian theory, extra acupoints and reflex-zone principles to turn scattered experience into a system that could be taught and repeated consistently, which he named Qijing. The material was later published in a book he edited.
